2019/2020 Ghana Premier League Golden Boot: Victorien Adebayor Closes Gap On Yahaya Mohammed
The race for the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League golden boot is starting to hot up as we head into the halfway point of the season with players battling to be crowned the league’s top goalscorer.
Victorien Adebayor has flourished under the guidance of head coach Tony Lokko at Inter Allies and is out in front of a chasing pack that includes Yahaya Mohammed, Prince-Adu Kwabena, and Prince-Opoku Agyemang.
Adebayor became the first player to clock double figures last Saturday when he took his tally to 10 goals from just 9 games after his sensational two goals against Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park.
Yahaya Mohammed, on the other hand, netted twice despite his side’s heavy defeat at the Carl Reinfolf park against Liberty Professionals. Aduana lost 5-2 to the Scientific Soccer Lads with the former Kotoko enforcer getting the consolation for the Ogya Boys.
The strike took Yahaya Mohamed to 10 goals from 10 attempts to peg the scoring race heading into the halfway point of the season.
The likes of Osman Ibrahim of King Faisal, Bernard Boateng of Elimina Sharks and Elvis Kyei Baffour of Liberty and Kofi Kordzi of Hearts of Oak will also feel they still have a chance, with plenty of time still left in the 2019-20 campaign.
