Is Ghana truly ready for a lockdown?
Information we are gathering says the government of Ghana is currently contemplating on lockdown of the two cities who have experienced coronavirus cases.
Already, the Ghana Medical Association has called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to immediately lock down the country to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
According to the GMA, the lockdown is an effective and proven way to stop the spread of the coronavirus and would help save lives even though it will be uncomfortable for some people.
In a series of messages being spread on Whatsapp, it has been alleged that there will be a total lockdown of Accra and Kumasi by Saturday for two weeks so Ghanaians are being asked to prepare enough by getting foodstuffs.
According to the widespread Whatsapp message, discussions are currently ongoing at the Flagstaff House as the government of Ghana hopes to stop the spread of the coronavirus which has already recorded 68 cases and 3 deaths so far.
