“Lagos Police Didn’t Invite Me Before Declaring Me Wanted” – Mohbad’s Childhood Friend Primeboy Reveals
Primeboy, a childhood friend of the late musician Mohbad, voiced his dissatisfaction over the police’s decision to release a wanted notice without prior summons.
Do you recall when the Lagos State Police Command released a wanted poster for Primeboy on Wednesday? Much to the police’s astonishment, he voluntarily surrendered himself yesterday, just hours after the wanted notice was issued.
The Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, issued a statement on X to announce this latest development. However, there’s a twist of events as Primeboy expresses anger at the Police.
In the latest interview with Primeboy, he expressed his astonishment at finding himself on the police’s wanted list with an N1 million bounty on his head, stating that he had never received any prior invitations from them.
“The Nigeria Police didn’t invite me before declaring me wanted, I am not running at all, I was surprised to see my name plastered all over social media”.
Mohbad died on 12 September at the age of 27 under controversial circumstances.
Via his official X (formerly Twitter) page on Wednesday, the Lagos State police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed why the police wanted Primeboy.
The police declaration came a few days after Primeboy released a tribute song to the late singer titled “Tribute to Mohbad.” The song, released on 25th September on Apple Music, recounts how Mohbad shared some of his challenges with him, but he never knew he would be gone so soon
