Mauritania Is Now Coronavirus FREE – Here’s How They Did It

The deadly coronavirus pandemic has been confirmed in over 180 countries worldwide since it was first discovered in the Chinese city of Wuhan back in December 2019.

The World Health Organisation, WHO has since declared it a pandemic due to its spread.

Information Foxvibes.com has gathered says that Mauritania does not have any active case of coronavirus as at the time of this report. It has been confirmed that all six patients tested negative out of the seven confirmed cases. The other patient died.

Mauritania is one of the few African countries that have so far recorded single-digit infection along with the likes of Burundi, Sao Tome and Principe, South Sudan with five, four, and four cases respectively as of April 21.

Major African stats as of April 21

  • Confirmed cases = 23,517
  • Number of deaths = 1,160
  • Recoveries = 6,116
  • Infected countries = 52
  • Virus-free countries = 2 (Lesotho, Comoros)

Mauritania said it continued to carry out tests since March 13 when the index case was recorded. The country is currently enforcing a nigh-time curfew as part of containment efforts.
