Pray Nigerian Doesn’t Happen To Us – RMD Mourns Victims Of Ondo Shooting

Famous Nigerian actor, lawyer, writer, and producer, Richard Mofe-Damijo, fondly known as RMD has shared opinions on recent incidents in his native country, Nigeria, especially the Ondo shooting.

  • The veteran thespian was reacting to the recent Ondo shooting.
  • Some gunmen invaded a Church and killed worshippers during service in Ondo.

Based on the thespian’s Instagram post, Nigeria is continuing to challenge the sanity of people time and time with horrific incidents like the one in Ondo State the other day.

He said that the recent instability in the country has demonstrated that they are prone to vulnerability and asked that those who have been wounded are healed and that the rest of us pray that this kind of incident never occurs ever again.

He wrote;

Our sanity is once again tested in our motherland. The terrible incident that happened in Owo, Ondo state has left us heartbroken and devastated. The insecurity in this country has shown us how fragile we all are.

God’s sanctuary was desecrated as Owo cried blood yesterday. May the wounded be healed May souls of the dearly departed find rest. May those left bereft, find solace. While you and I continue to hope and pray that “Nigeria doesn’t happen to us.

According to Tribuneonlineng.com, some gunmen on Sunday attacked St. Francis  Catholic Church in Owo, headquarters of Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, killing members of the congregation during the church service.

It was gathered that some corpses had been moved out of the church with many casualties lying at the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, for medical attention. The Ondo shooting has caused further unrest in Nigeria with many saying they’re no longer safe.
