Manhyia Secures $30m To Fund Asante Kotoko Stadium Project – Capacity And Other Details Revealed

According to reports, Kumasi Asante Kotoko will be moving into a new stadium which will be among the most state-of-the-art in the Ashanti Kingdom.

According to Foxvibes.com’s reliable sources at Myfabulousonline.com, the club through Manhyia Palace has secured a $30m fund to help finance the new stadium project.

What is the new Asante Kotoko stadium project?

Asante Kotoko have long been working towards setting up a new domain and the club’s dream of building their own stadium has received a massive boost after securing a $30M funding.

Though the source of the funds is yet to be disclosed, it has been reported that the funds will be released to the club after the current investigations being carried into the club’s recent dealings are done.

Construction of the stadium is said to take up to five years to complete.

Manhyia is yet to decide on the location of the stadium despite the club’s big land at Adako Jachie. Reports indicate that the part of that land has been sold to people due to the club’s lack of care on the property.

 

What features will the new Kotoko stadium have?

  • The new venue will also include Conference facilities for businesses in the Ashanti Region.

What capacity will the new Kotoko stadium be?

The new Kotoko stadium is set to have a capacity of 70,000 seats, which is an increase of over 29,472 from the capacity of their current home stadium, Baba Yara sports stadium.

Once completed, Kotoko Sports Stadium will be one of the biggest football stadiums in the country, and fans will also be able to claim some bragging rights from the fact that it will be bigger than the home of their rivals Accra Hearts of Oak which has a capacity of 40,000.

It remains unclear when the first game will be played at the new Kotoko stadium after the club announced that there would be delays to the original plans due to the current investigations into the club’s expenditure.
